The last stop outside the city of Stepantsminda is the settlement of Gergeti, where in the 14th century a temple of the Holy Trinity was built at the end of the mountain. This place offers an unforgettable view of the majestic Mount Kazbek, whose height is 5047 meters. In winter, the ascent to the temple takes up to 2 hours on foot up to 4.5 km along a snow-covered serpentine. In summer and in the warm season, this road can only be driven by off-road vehicles. However, difficult road conditions give this place an authentic zest.
