Our journey will pass through the Kvemo Kartli region, which is not actively visited by tourists, but is the golden heritage of the most ancient civilizations on our earth. The region is not well adapted for tourism and we will be able to plunge into the depths of everyday life and into a little explored part of Georgia.

Kvemo Kartli is “Lower Kartli”, a region in the southern part of Georgia, southwest of Tbilisi. From the north, the border runs along the Trialeti mountains, in the south it comes into contact with Armenia. The administrative center is the city of Rustavi. The population is almost half a million, 75 per kilometer, mostly Georgians and Azerbaijanis. Moreover, Azerbaijanis dominate here, they are every second here, and in the Marneuli region as much as 80 percent. There is a small Armenian region around the village of Shaumyani

Dmanisi ancient settlement – Archaeological excavations have been carried out here for a long time and it was here that the world-famous “homo georgicus” was found. Here begins the history of Europeans. The age of these fossils is more than 1800 million years, which allows us to consider them the first representatives of the human race on the territory of Europe. The name from the Latin Homogeorgicus, translates as – Man from Georgia.

The Archaeological Museum of Dmanisi is the most important monument of cultural heritage, the scientific study of which began in the first half of the 20th century. The museum is located on the site of archaeological excavations, where cultural layers of three eras are simultaneously represented: the Stone Age, the Bronze Age and the Middle Ages. Museum visitors will be able to see the objects found as a result of archaeological excavations in Dmanisi, including reconstructed dummies of the first Europeans – Mzia and Zezva. The Dmanisi Museum is the first in Georgia where the visitor can observe archaeological works, become a possible participant in new finds and receive the latest information about the scientific discovery.

Dashbashi Canyon is a new canyon that is unique and has no analogues in the world.
