Tbilisi is a city founded on two sides of the Kura (Mtkvari) river in the 5th century AD.

Artifacts and buildings found here date back to the 2nd century BC. people talk about the development of hot springs in ancient times. This place lay on the Silk Road and was the last fort to the capital of the then Iberia (Greek name) or Kartli, as the locals called this place. The fort was built in the 4th century and placed as a gateway to the capital and the ancient city of Mtskheta. The foundation of the city of Tbilisi (warm water) is associated with the name of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, who laid here the capital and fortress walls for two parts of the city, on the right bank a trading city, on the left the royal palace and courtiers.
